I had similar issue and found that the manufacturer had springs inside and a torsion spring outside on the actuator. I remov ed the outer torsion and flipped my cable set up. ALSO Double CHECH The Gear Mesh On The Pinion And Ring gear. Mine stripped out way too easily.
