I have been working on 3D printing parts as well as designing the engine. The truck body will be next, but I have to get the dimensions of the engine just right. I am basing this off of a CAT 3406C. With the current King Hauler body, the engine won't fit with the radiator and other parts. I would need to scale it down, but it may be too small. I am afraid this one is too big. I can keep it this size and print the hood longer than what the kit comes with to accommodate the engine which would make everything come out right.

If you design the engine where the electric would fit inside, would be a great thing.

So here is where I am now. I have been working on the design of the engine for a while. I am ready to paint some parts and start gluing it together. Took 21hrs for engine alone without all the accessories. Hope to get more pics soon.

![]() This is where the truck is at. I am also working on the drive shafts and carrier bearing. ![]() Here is what I am going for, will see what it turns out like in the end.

I think everyone needs a printer these days. That engine is impressive!

Awesome Cat .. love to have the files for that one .. The one I printed closer resembles a block of plastic that I think looks more like a Cummins

Thanks for the comments guys. I have about 3 weeks of work into this engine. I will make them ready for sale by the end of May I hope. Too much time into these to get it just right to give the files away.

Nothing wrong with getting a little $$ for your work, esp if you did both the 3d modeling and the printing setup yourself.

Reprinting the radiator right now, but it is getting there. Printing the hoses is next.

![]() Here we have the side step, step boxes and fenders printed out. Tanks are polished and installed with aluminum end caps held in place by a printed solid round insert.

Here is the body completed. Reprinting most of it as the ABS I was using did not work well. I also added strength joints to the interior of the parts.

The electric motor fits inside and the wires come out the side of the printed motor.
