I know this is not a tandem axle but I was wondering if anyone may have an answer to my question.?
A lot of the buses I see with tandems run a standard dual tire for front axle and only a single skinny tire on the rear axle it's not a super single or even a lift axle so I don't understand why?? Just curious if anyone knows why. Anyway awesome build and the craftsmanship is second to none keep the updates coming and the ideas flowing. --Dan

thanks man
and your talking about the extra wheel thats inside like the lugage area? Tag axles mounted ahead of the drive axle on the P8M-4905A coaches. This tag axle was apparently an option that could come with the coach when ordered by the customer. Notice the smaller wheel and rim size, basically what it does is it helps remove some load off the drive axel and I guess that would make the bus engine have less stress and wear. ![]() this ? ![]()

It is called a tag axle. Usually a trailing (behind) set up. There are several advantages to it. Larger load capacity, better rear departure angle, more braking, reduced tire wear, etc.
