got a bruder mixer for a good price (thanks jammer), so i picked it up. also had a semi joe custom daycab that i never did anything with, so i put them together, and they look pretty good. thought i try a show mixer look, the work truck look has been done..
after a bit of dremeling to metallica that is... added some alum 10 hole and super singles.. Last edited by bigdogrod; 02-26-2016 at 12:10 AM. |

then i figured the drum should turn, and i wanted to keep the stock gear, so i thought why not flip it? so a bit more dremeling and now the gear shaft protrudes through the bottom of the frame, i can connect to a servo real easy. i plan to have a working water tank on the top too, which was another reason to flip the front piece.

Man that's sweet!! Been working on one for a bit but the rotating drum was a problem. Gonna give your method a try. Thanks!!

Thats one nice pete in the making and the mixer on the back suits the chassis length, but thats no KW and not precise enough, (sorry couldn't help my self )
Cheers Tracy

nenard... good luck, let us know how it turns (pun intended) out. you could use a micro servo in the water tank to turn the gear, but i'm hoping i can make the tank functional...
cossett: i see what you're saying... wrong grille... that's my bad, i had to use the kw grille joe had on there somewhere else, let me see if i can come with something better.. it sort of looks like freightliner, but also kw as well, but the fenders are too flat, i think the pete 387 might be close, at least it has the drop window thanks for the suggestion Last edited by bigdogrod; 02-26-2016 at 09:20 AM. |

It is a very good idea, you'll make it work the mixer?

yes, that was the goal in flipping the front mount, i plan on using a constant rotation servo mounted in the frame

Like both types of fenders but the normal ones are more what you see on 1-1's

That's one a really nice looking rig. I am glad you are sharing your build pictures and information, as I have a new King Hauler that I would like to build into a Mixer. Can't wait to see more pictures.
Thanks again for sharing, Ken |
